TORQUAY

Torquay is a township facing Bass Strait, 21 km. south of Geelong (i.e. across the Bellarine Peninsula from Geelong). It is bordered on the west by Spring Creek and its coastal features include Point Danger and Zeally Bay.It boasts two of the nation’s best surf beaches, Bells and Jan Juc, at the front doorstep, it was inevitable that Torquay would emerge as one of the state’s most popular coastal resorts. Standing at the eastern gateway to the Great Ocean Road, Torquay also introduces visitors to spectacular seafront drives west to Anglesea and the scenic gems of Victoria’s magnificent southern coast. The international surfing spotlight is focused on Torquay at Easter for the traditional Bells Beach titles, while recreational surfers can run the wave gauntlet secure in the knowledge that the beach is guarded by volunteers from Victoria’s largest surf lifesaving club. Torquay is also a haven for craft-lovers, while the museum at Bellbrae, six kilometres to the west, houses a fine collection of horse-drawn carriages. Fifteen kilometres away, Anglesea is a tranquil beach resort which bursts into festive colour on New Year's Day with the annual regatta on the river of veteran sailing craft, some of which were launched more than 100 years ago.

As an extension to the Turkish Lions' contribution, the Brisbane Ekibin Lions Club of MD 201 Q1 (Australia) offer assistance to Lions Clubs who want to take advantage of the Turkish Lions offer, but are not familiar with web publishing. They've already set up many sites for Lions Clubs world-wide, using Lionwap.
If your club wants to be on the internet, and would like some help, leave a message in the Ekibin Guest Book by clicking on the image above.  This is a FREE SERVICE, so you don't spend a cent for their work. As Lionwap is also FREE, this means you get a web site that you NEVER have to pay for. - Is that a deal or what?
All your Club has to do it have some-one update and maintain your page, which needs not take more than a few minutes each month. The Ekibin Lions will even give you some tips on that!
